Located in Yase, Kyoto, Hotel Moksa is a luxury accommodation with the theme of "rebirth" and "regeneration". Located in a natural environment along the Takano River at the foot of Mt. Hiei, it is the perfect place to stay for those seeking healing of the mind and body.  This time, we used it to celebrate a birthday. 🌿 The charm of moksa 1. A healing space in harmony with nature Yase is known as the birthplace of the traditional Japanese sauna "kiln bath" and has been loved as a place to purify the mind and body since ancient times. moksa was built on this historic land and designed to cherish the sense of unity with nature. From the guest rooms, you can see the Takano River and moss garden, and enjoy the scenery of the four seasons.  2. A sauna experience to harmonize the mind and body At moksa, there are three types of private saunas that are elaborately designed using water from the Takano River. Although there is an additional charge, it is perfect for refreshing the mind and body.  4. Enjoy the bounty of Kyoto with firewood cooking and traditional tea The restaurant serves firewood cooking using local ingredients, and you can enjoy watching the cooking in the open kitchen. Breakfast is rice cooked in a pot or rice with raw egg on top, and inari sushi for dinner, showing the careful attention to detail.  5. An extraordinary space woven with art and fragrance Artworks by contemporary artists such as ceramicist Yukari Hirotani and calligrapher Daijiro Shinjo are on display throughout the building, stimulating the senses of visitors. Incense is also burned in the lobby, creating a healing space through the five senses.  ✍️The inclusive drinks at the lobby lounge were very appealing. Coffee, original blend tea, and even a glass of beer are available for free. They also kindly offered a tea tasting test. You can drink in the lobby or take it to your room. The staff were very warm and the hospitality was wonderful. This is a recommended inn for those who want to get away from everyday life and reset their mind and body.  📍 Access information It is about a 40-minute drive from Kyoto Station, so you can spend a relaxing time in a quiet environment away from the hustle and bustle.
