Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is the head shrine of all Tenmangu Shrines in Japan, dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning. It is a power spot visited by many worshippers, mainly students taking exams. The grounds include the "Plum Garden," known as a famous plum blossom spot, where about 50 varieties and 1,500 plum trees color the spring. In addition, on the 25th of each month, an antique market called "Tenjin Market" and outdoor stalls are lined up, creating a lively atmosphere.
