I visited Myoshinji for the first time to get a goshuin. In addition to goshuin, there are also zazen and sutra copying experiences, which seemed like a lot of fun, but it was late on a weekday and the gates were about to close, so it was relatively empty. After getting the goshuin and walking around the grounds, it seemed like a complex of many temples, and some of the temples and facilities were important cultural properties, and as I was looking around, I saw many roof tiles with animals that ward off evil. The most eye-catching feature is the lion roof tile, which stands on the roof of the Daihoin Temple and has a manly appearance, as if it were a talismanic lion roof tile. As I walked around the temple in silence, time seemed to flow slowly, and I felt at peace. Myoshinji Temple offers the opportunity to experience Japanese history and culture, including the lecture hall with the oldest bell tower in Japan, as well as the Cloud and Dragon Painting, so next time I'd like to take my time and look around.
