🚩 Philosopher's Path ✔️ Located in front of Ginkaku-ji (Higashiyama Jisho-ji) ✔️ A walking path that is about 2km long The reason why this path is called 'Philosopher's Path' is because Nishida Kitaro, a professor and philosopher at Kyoto University in the early 20th century, would walk this path every morning and lose himself in thought. Afterwards, his disciples Hajime Tanabe, Kiyoshi Miki, etc. Walk this path and become lost in thought, so it came to be called Philosopher's Path, and it became the official name in 1972. This Philosopher's Path is also a famous cherry blossom and autumn foliage spot in Kyoto, so it is often crowded at that time. When I went, it was summer, so there were no people, and it was nice to be able to walk around the path quietly. There are also various shops and restaurants next to the Philosopher's Path, so don't miss it as it is fun to eat and see. In particular, the udon restaurant called 'Omen' is a famous place on the Philosopher's Path, so it would be good to visit it at least once.
