[Kyoto Prefecture/Futabahime Inari Shrine] A shrine at the foot of Mount Jinguji

This shrine is located at the foot of Mount Jinguji, east of Kamigamo Shrine. It was the guardian shrine of Jinguji Temple, which was abolished due to the anti-Buddhist movement. When the temple was abolished, Jinguji Pond was also filled in, and since then, dragon gods have appeared in the dreams of the villagers. As a result, the Yashima Dragon God from Benten Island, which was in the center of the pond, was moved here. There is a theory that draining the pond caused a drought, so the sacred stone of the Mikage Dragon God is enshrined as its deity. Futabahime Inari Shrine was enshrined further back from Kamigamo Shrine! Opposite it is a wonderful view. Attracted by the sight of the vermilion torii gates, many people go close to the shrine, but few people go up to the top.
