Shanghai Moms' Weekend Getaway in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai: Kunshan Edition

When you're in Shanghai and have no idea where to go for the weekend, a hotel staycation is always a delightful option. I remember when I first started working, my bosses would always ask, "Where are you going this weekend? Going to check out a Marriott? A Sheraton? You have to keep up your membership status!" I thought they were so carefree. If you're looking for a cost-effective way to enjoy a luxurious hotel stay, I've found a great option with five-star service just an hour away from Shanghai. On Saturday, after lunch, we drove to the Crowne Plaza Kunshan, about an hour's drive. Upon arrival, we were impressed by the magnificent and upscale lobby. After settling in, we enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea at the lobby's dessert bar—pure bliss! The hotel's swimming pool and gym are our must-visit spots every time we stay. My little one excitedly grabbed his swimming ring and dashed straight to the pool. The water was clean, the temperature was constantly monitored and comfortably warm, making it a perfect swim, even on this day. After a fun-filled afternoon, we indulged in a satisfying seafood buffet dinner at the Furong Western Restaurant. From Wellington steak and seasonal hairy crabs to a Japanese food section and hot pot, there was something for everyone. After the feast, I relaxed on the incredibly soft and comfortable bed, drifting off to sleep and waking up refreshed the next morning. Opening the curtains to the sunlight streaming in, I felt a sense of hope and happiness for the new day.
