A cat city adventure

My recent trip to Kuching, Sarawak, was an unforgettable journey filled with culture, history, and scenic beauty. The city, known for its laid-back charm and unique mix of modern and traditional vibes, gave me a refreshing break from routine life. One of my first stops was the Borneo Cultures Museum,a must-visit attraction in Kuching. The museum beautifully showcases the rich heritage of Borneo, with interactive exhibits, traditional artifacts, and cultural displays that offered a deeper appreciation for the diversity of Sarawak’s people. It was not only educational but visually captivating. Next, I took a walk across the iconic Darul Hana Bridge which connects both sides of the city across the Sarawak River. The bridge offered stunning panoramic views, especially with the backdrop of the Dewan Undangan Negeri Sarawak, the state legislative building. Its golden roof and modern architecture stood out beautifully, both during the day and when lit up at night. In the evening, I joined the Royal Kuching Cruise, a relaxing river tour that provided a different perspective of the city. Holding my boarding pass and cruising along the Sarawak River, I enjoyed the gentle breeze and the view of local life by the riverbanks. It was peaceful and offered a perfect moment to unwind while capturing some memorable photos. Of course, a visit to Kuching wouldn’t be complete without stopping by the famous Cat Monument, a quirky but iconic symbol of the city. After snapping a few fun pictures there, I made my way to the Main Bazaar, one of the oldest shopping streets in Kuching. It was the perfect place to find unique souvenirs, including handmade crafts, textiles, and local snacks. Before leaving, I took a short boat ride to Kampung Boyan, a charming Malay village across the river, where I bought several boxes of the famous kek lapis Sarawak. #travel #familytravel #museums #citydaytours The colorful layered cakes are not only beautiful but absolutely delicious. Overall, my trip to Kuching was a wonderful blend of sightseeing, cultural exploration, and food adventure. It’s a place that welcomes you with warmth, and I’d gladly return again for more hidden gems and peaceful river views.
