Swoyambhu Mahachaitya in Kathmandu

Swayambhunath Temple is located in the west of Kathmandu. It is said to be the oldest temple in Nepal and an important Buddhist heritage site in the country. Kathmandu buses are not very easy to understand, so I recommend taking a taxi, but I also recommend the app Pathao. You can use it if you have a Nepali mobile number, and it's easy because taxi drivers don't lie. The entrance fee to Swayambhunath Temple is 200 rupees for foreigners only. There are still many monkeys inside the temple, so it's safer not to have any sweets or food in your hands. Many people in the shops can speak simple Japanese, but the souvenirs are more expensive than in Kathmandu city, so I don't recommend it. I walked home on foot. It's not a dangerous area, so if you have the stamina and time, I recommend walking. It's not too far from Thamel, and you can see the inside of Kathmandu city by walking.
