(Day 2) We used the JR Tokyo Wide Pass to take the Hokuriku Shinkansen early this morning (we also took the Narita Express from Narita Airport to Tokyo Station on the first day when we left the airport). It only takes one hour to reach Karuizawa🫶The advantage of this three-day pass is that you can sit in a designated seat, and you can also reserve a seat online in advance to ensure that you will have a seat🫶The price of the pass is 10180 yen, and the one-way fare of the Hokuriku Shinkansen is 5490 yen (free seat) ~ 6020 yen (reserved seat), so if you want to go to the suburbs of Tokyo, it is highly recommended to buy it🙌 We departed from Roppongi Station on the Hibiya Line and transferred to the Marunouchi Line at Kasumigaseki Station to Tokyo Station, where we took the JR Hokuriku Shinkansen and got off at JR Karuizawa. There are two exits as soon as you get out of the station, one is towards Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza, and the other is towards Kyu-Karuizawa. Please go towards Kyu-Karuizawa. It snowed in the suburbs of Tokyo the day before when we went there. The weather was great that day, the ground was covered with beautiful snow, there was no snow or rain but the temperature was still cold. It would take about 20 minutes to walk to Yunchang Pond, but because there was snow on the ground, I had to look at the map and take photos along the way, so it took me almost 40 minutes to get there. When you walk into the tree-lined avenue in front of Yunchang Pond, the scenery is already beautiful! The towering trees on both sides would definitely be a beautiful red leaf avenue for taking photos in autumn. But in winter, the frost on the trees and the snow on the ground bring another pure white beauty 🫶 I regret not wearing white to check in 🥲 I thought the tree view was beautiful, but I didn’t expect the scenery to be so stunning when I stepped into Yunchang Pond! Japan's colorful blue sky becomes brighter after the rain. The lake water is painted the same blue as the blue sky, truly blending the water and sky into one color. We took a walk along the lake and took pictures from different angles, which were all very beautiful. There are some small bridges along the way, and you can walk to the other side and turn back at any time. It is also beautiful to take pictures on the bridge. We originally planned to spend only 2 hours here, but ended up spending an extra hour taking photos and building a snowman. There aren't too many people in winter, so it's easy to take beautiful photos.
