6 Days & 5 Nights Road Trip in Western Sichuan: Super Sincere Sharing

Just returned from Western Sichuan! Our well-planned route perfectly avoided the National Day crowds, ensuring smooth travels throughout. Western Sichuan is truly healing, with breathtaking scenery along the way—golden mountain sunrises, vast grasslands, rainbows, and more. We also met many fascinating people. Preparations: 💉 Medicine: Oxygen, ibuprofen, cold medicine, glucose, saline solution + erythromycin (for dry noses) 🧣 Clothing: Windbreaker, comfortable shoes, hat, scarf (High-altitude areas are very cold and windy—windbreakers and hats are essential. Staying warm is crucial as altitude sickness + cold can be dangerous. Recommend wearing wide-leg pants or skirts, as toilets are mostly pit latrines.) 🚶🏻 Transport: Self-drive. Rented a Tank 300 via Qunar for 5.5 days + insurance, totaling ¥4,300. 💰 Bring some cash—signal is unstable on the road. ♾ Full Route: Chengdu - Siguniang Mountain - Danba (Jiaju Tibetan Village) - Tagong Grassland (via Yala Snow Mountain Viewpoint, Gunong Village, Balang Shengdu) - Jagenba Village - Shangmu Village (Zimei Pass) - Kangding - Chengdu Day 1: Shenzhen ✈️ Chengdu 🏨 Laizhu Hotel (near Taikoo Li & Chunxi Road) Car delivered to the hotel at 4 PM + stocked up on supplies (snacks, self-heating meals, tissues, two cases of water, one case of cola). Day 2: Chengdu - Siguniang Mountain Scenic Area - Jiaju Tibetan Village (Danba) 🚗 Route: 227 km, Chengdu Ring Expressway - Rongchang Expressway - China Panda Avenue 🎫 Siguniang Mountain: Book via official WeChat account (Aba Tourism Network), ¥150/person. Tickets available 14 days in advance. Drifting in the scenic area costs ¥90/person. 🎫 Jiaju Tibetan Village: ¥50/person 🏨 Danba Starry Sky Photography Homestay (includes breakfast, has a restaurant—recommend yak hotpot).
