It was later rebuilt and expanded by the eminent monk Huiyun in the first year of Chang'an of the Tang Dynasty (701 AD). By the first year of Yanhe of the Tang Dynasty (712 AD), Emperor Ruizong of Tang, Li Dan, named it "Daxiangguo Temple" to commemorate his ascension to the throne from Prince Xiang and inscribed the temple's name plaque, endowing it with the noble status of a royal temple. The architectural design of Daxiangguo Temple adopts a solemn palace style, arranged in sequence from south to north along the central axis, including the Mountain Gate, Hall of Heavenly Kings, Mahavira Hall, Arhat Hall, Sutra Library Pavilion, and other magnificent halls, showcasing the beauty of orderly layout. Main Highlights: 1️⃣ "Morning Bell of Xiangguo", standing four meters high and weighing ten thousand pounds, is known as one of the eight scenic spots of Kaifeng.
