[Kagoshima Prefecture] Karasujima Observatory: A viewing spot with a panoramic view of Sakurajima and Kagoshima Bay

After a 15-minute ferry ride from Kagoshima city, we arrived at Sakurajima, a volcanic spot where small-scale culture continues to this day. We then headed to Karasujima Observatory, one of the observation points located there. The lava flow from an eruption in the Taisho era formed a lava field, and this place was built on top of that hill. The magnificent view of Sakurajima spread out before us, and below us we could see the life-nurturing Kagoshima Bay, and in every direction we looked, there was a picturesque view. There was also a stone monument at the observation point that read, "Torishima is below this." When I looked it up later, I found out that this place was originally a separate island floating on the sea, and that the name of that island was Karasujima. It's amazing that it was originally a separate island! The lava flow from the Taisho era eruption swallowed up Torishima, and it became part of the Sakurajima landscape we see today! It was a place where the terrible impact of the eruption and the wonders of nature were quietly discussed ⛰️ -—————————————— [Access🚗🚌] ①About 30 minutes on foot from Sakurajima Port Ferry Terminal ②About 4 minutes by car from Sakurajima Ferry Toll Gate ③Take the "Sakurajima Island View" bus Get off at "Karasujima Observatory" -————————————— #2025 #Kagoshima Prefecture #Kagoshima Trip #Kagoshima Trip #Sakurajima Ferry #Sakurajima #Volcano #Karasujima Observatory #Observation Spot #Kagoshima Bay #Landscape of Nature #Breathtaking View #Lava #Karasujima #Landscape of Southern Kagoshima #Eruption #Active Volcano #Amazing Nature #Camera Trip #Single-lens Reflex Camera #canoneoskissx9i #I Love Traveling #Travel Records #Cut-out World #Traveling in Japan #Where should I go next? #japan #japantravel #kagoshima #Domestic travel strategy
