Enjoy Kagoshima in Southern Kyushu

This time I chose to visit Kagoshima and my kids and I were so interested in the history, culture and scenery of Kyushu that I decided to spend a whole day exploring Kagoshima. The first stop was Kagoshima Castle, which was built in 1604 and housed the Shimadzu family for over 270 years. Now, this ancient castle has been restored and turned into a museum that showcases the history of Kagoshima Castle and the Shimadzu family! Then we immediately went to Sakurajima, one of the most famous scenic spots in Kagoshima, an active volcano. I took the boat and as it landed, I caught sight of smoke and fire from the crater mist. After getting to the island, I took some bus tours, took in the magnificent volcano views, and went to Yunohei to enjoy the scenery! After that, we headed to Senganen, a beautiful garden that serves as a private retreat for the Shimadzu family.
