Jingdezhen City, also known as the 'Porcelain Capital', is a prefecture-level city in Jiangxi Province, located in the northeastern part of Jiangxi Province, bordering Dongzhi County of Anhui Province to the northwest, Wannian County to the south, Poyang County to the west, Qimen County of Anhui Province to the northeast, and Wuyuan County to the southeast, with a total area of 5256 square kilometers. Jingdezhen was established as a town during the Eastern Jin Dynasty, initially called 'Changnan', later renamed 'Xinping', under the jurisdiction of Jiangzhou; in the first year of Tianbao of the Tang Dynasty (742), it was renamed 'Fuliang'; in the first year of Jingde of the Northern Song Dynasty, it was officially named 'Jingdezhen', under the jurisdiction of Fuliang County; after the liberation, it was separated from Fuliang County and became Jingdezhen City; in 1960, Fuliang County was merged into Jingdezhen City.
