A family-friendly way to explore Thousand Buddha Mountain.

With two children and four elderly people, we took the cable car up the mountain. The ticket was CNY 20 (half price for those over 60 with ID, full price for children over 1.2 meters). We enjoyed the beautiful scenery on the way up and the panoramic view of Jinan at the top. The cable car ride was just the right length, not too long but not too short either. After reaching the top, you can buy a ticket for the slide down the mountain at the window (CNY 50 per person, no discount for the elderly, cable car and slide tickets are not sold after 16:30!). After a short stay at the top (we didn't have time to visit Xingguo Temple and Lishan Courtyard), we took the slide down the mountain. The slide was safe and fun, and both the elderly and children liked it. The speed was also well controlled. After getting off the slide, you can see the Big Golden Buddha after walking about 1 kilometer. The scenery along the way is beautiful. After visiting the Golden Buddha, you can leave the scenic area from the nearest exit at the Thousand Buddha Mountain Art Museum and take a taxi.
