Here's a key point: the mountain you climb on your own and the mountain top you reach by car are not the same. I recommend taking the car. Definitely do a good job with sun protection. You can go there and back in the same day, and the price is reasonable, so those who are considering it can go. It's best to bring your own food as the restrooms on the mountain don't have water, so bring more wet wipes. It's not recommended for very young children to come as there are snakes in the mountains.
