A miniature "castle" built during the Sixteen Kingdoms period

In Shanxi, there is a miniature ancient castle, where the ground level is a thousand-year-old fortress, and beneath lies an ancient tunnel system akin to a "ten-thousand-meter Great Wall". The ancient castle is located in Jiezhou City, Shanxi, and was originally constructed during the Sixteen Kingdoms period. It is one of the well-preserved rare ancient miniature "castles" in China that integrates military, residential, production, and religious activities. Legend has it that this was the place where Liu Wuzhou, from the end of the Sui Dynasty to the beginning of the Tang Dynasty, resisted Li Shimin. He held out in the ancient castle for a long time.
