Jianshui is a low-key city full of humanities and history. Local residents fetch water from ancient wells every day. Everyone chats and drinks tea under the ancient trees, eats baked tofu, and tells interesting stories about every day! This place is far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but, The historical and cultural atmosphere is extremely rich, slow pace is the daily life here, and the atmosphere of fireworks and life is both romantic and poetic. 🚉Transportation guide: High-speed rail: From Kunming to Jianshui, about 2 hours Self-driving: About 2.5 hours from Changshui Airport to Jianshui 🗓Itinerary: Day1: Jianshui Ancient City → East Gate Chaoyang Tower → Zhu Family Garden → Lin’an Government Office → Jianshui Confucian Temple → Jianshui Ancient Well → Zitao Street Day2: Small train Lin'an Station → Shuanglong Bridge → Xianghuiqiao Station → Tuanshan Station → Tuanshan Residential House → Return to Shuanglong Bridge to watch the sunset Day3: Ant Workshop → Wulong Lake → Lotus Island ❤Reason for recommendation: 1Jianshui Ancient City The locals still live here without too much commercialization. Under the morning light, there are rickshaw pullers pulling three-wheelers, silverware craftsmen and the smell of roasted tofu fills the city. The urban atmosphere is suitable for strolling around slowly. 2 small trains The century-old meter-gauge railway has reopened as a small train, running from the ancient city to Tuanshan Village. You can also ride a battery car and clock in at each stop along the road next to the railway. Shuanglong Bridge (Seventeen-hole Bridge) Must!! Come here in the afternoon to watch the sunset, the sun shines on the lake, and the golden waves shine across the bridge, just like the same golden light hole in the Summer Palace 3Xianghuiqiao Station/Tuanshan Station The station style combines Chinese and Western styles, with macaron colors and flowers and plants spread all over the railway tracks. Checking in and taking photos at these two stations is so photogenic. 4 Tuanshan Village Tuanshan Station is just a short walk away. It’s antique, with historic walls meandering under the big banyan trees. There aren’t many people, so it’s a good place to hang out. 5Yi Workshop/Lotus Island (both in Wulong Lake) The colorful castle with light and shadow in Ant Factory is great for taking pictures. Remember to bring a wide angle. Buying a cup of coffee at the entrance is free of charge. The lotus island in the center of the lake is free. Cacti and tropical plants are everywhere. The locals call it "Little California". It's great for taking pictures. 🖼Food recommendations: Steam pot chicken, grilled tofu, cold rice noodles, braised pork rice noodles, Jianshui BBQ, Lao Ya Ge duck goods 📝Note tips: 1. Jianshui has a large temperature difference between morning and evening, so it is recommended to bring a jacket 2. Ultraviolet rays are strong, so use sun protection to avoid sunburn. 3. Don’t eat at internet celebrity check-in restaurants during holidays. The service attitude and taste are unstable. Find one on the street where locals eat.
