A road fragrant with rapeseed flowers, the mountains a splendid tapestry. Departing from the ancient town of Qingmuchuan in Hanzhong, passing through the Jianmen Pass in Guangyuan, driving straight to Jiangyou in Mianyang, and ascending to Mount Douqi. In the evening, I stayed at a mountain-view hotel within the scenic area, driving up near the Yunyan Temple at the mountain top. A thousand mountains without a bird in flight, ten thousand paths devoid of human tracks. In the early spring, there are few visitors, as if the entire mountain has submerged into a realm of utter silence, with only the pitter-patter of the rain to be heard. The mountain air grows finer as the day wanes, and the birds in flight return together. I fell into a deep, dreamless sleep, and upon waking, I climbed to the top of the desolate mountain, sipped tea in the temple, and experienced a unity with the heavens, forgetting all words in the tranquility.
