A Journey into Jeonju's Printing Heritage: A Review of Wanpanbon Culture Center

#cityplaybook Having often traveled to Jeonju, I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Wanpanbon Culture Center for the first time, and I'd like to share my experience. The Wanpanbon Culture Center serves as a place to preserve the history and culture of Jeonju, which was once a hub of publishing. The name "Wanpanbon" itself refers to books published in Wansan, an old name for Jeonju. The center offers not only explanations but also a variety of hands-on experiences. I visited as part of a press tour, and we received a brief explanation of the center, followed by a woodblock printing experience and a postcard-making activity. It's noteworthy that if you have a Jeonbuk Tour Pass, the woodblock printing experience is available for free! In addition to woodblock printing, we also got to try woodblock Hanji (traditional Korean paper) postcard and envelope making. What truly impressed me was the array of diverse experiences available, such as woodblock printing and postcard drawing. It seems like a fantastic place to visit with children, as there are so many engaging activities. Indeed, if you're traveling to Jeonju with kids, or even with your mother like I did, these programs look particularly enjoyable and suitable for participation.
