|Amanemu, Ise-Shima National Park. I stayed at Amanemu, one of the three Aman hotels in Japan, for 3 nights during a business trip to Japan. I had a relaxing and leisurely time. 🏠About Amanemu Amanemu is located in Mie Prefecture, south of Nagoya. Designed by Kerry Hill Architects, the hotel consists of several dark charcoal wooden pavilion-style buildings with roofs made of Japanese-style tiles. In contrast to the midnight tones of the exterior, the interior is a combination of the lightest Japanese wood, neutral gray plaster surfaces, and natural stone. 🚕Transportation There are many options for getting here. For public transportation, you can take the Shinkansen to Nagoya, then transfer to the Kintetsu Limited Express train. It takes about 2 hours from Nagoya to Kashikojima Station in Ise-Shima National Park. Amanemu offers free shuttle service between the station and the resort. However, please note that the Kintetsu Limited Express train does not run frequently, so you need to plan your train connections carefully. You can also take a private car, which takes about 3 hours from Kyoto. Another option is to take the Aman helicopter service, which takes only 25 minutes from Chubu Centrair International Airport to the resort. 🛏Room Types Amanemu has two main types of rooms: 99 sqm one-bedroom suites and 366 sqm two-bedroom villas. The suites are divided into 8 Mori Suites with garden views, 10 Sora Suites with partial sea views, and 6 Nagi Suites with bay views. The villas are similarly divided into 1 Mori Villa, 2 Sora Villas, and 1 Nagi Villa. In addition, there are 4 Tsuki Villas with courtyard views, which are the entry-level villas. However, the Tsuki Villas have an outdoor private hot spring bath, which is not available in other villas. I stayed in the only two-bedroom Nagi Villa, room 101, which is the most expensive room type at Amanemu. ♨️Hot Spring Facilities The spa has two outdoor hot spring baths with different temperatures and two hot spring pavilions for relaxation. The spa also has 3 treatment rooms, a gym, a yoga studio, a Pilates studio, and a sauna and steam room, offering both dry and wet steam. 🍽Dining The resort has only two dining options: the Lounge and the Dining House. You can also order room service. For breakfast, you can choose between Japanese and Western styles, and there is also an a la carte menu with both Western and Japanese options. The ingredients are sourced locally, so you can enjoy Ise lobster and Matsusaka beef, two local specialties. Overall, the selection is limited, but it is sufficient for a resort.
