Surprised to see that Kopi Kalyan Cikajang 61, which has been around for six years, is finally closing down after their Barito branch also closed in 2022. With only three outlets remaining, it seems fitting to review one of these branches again. Since Kalyan Tokyo is too far and BSD as well, we chose Kalyan Wijaya for its classic Dutch house building. Just like their other branches, Kalyan Wijaya is always crowded during working hours and weekends, often requiring a waiting list for seating. Eventually, the opening of their second-floor area provided more seating options. Additionally, the outdoor area is divided into two: one on the ground floor and the other on the rooftop/balcony. Both floors have meeting rooms, sharing tables, and bar tables, so there’s no need to worry if you come in a group to study, have a meeting, or even if you’re alone but want to chat with the Kalyan barista. As for the menu, many of you are already familiar with what Kopi Kalyan offers. From the Kalyan To-Go canned coffee with iced coffee and taro berry, O-brew or manual brew with origami dripper for foto black coffee lovers, to snacks like the 1930 pull-apart bread, Kalyan Big Breakfast, and many other menu items. But Spotimin is reassured after hearing that they will be moving just a few meters from Cikajang 61 and opening a new branch in Surabaya.
