Jackson Hole, a Cowboy Town in the Western USA The town of Jackson Hole is a popular resort destination located an hour's drive from the south entrance of Yellowstone National Park. The town is named "Jackson" after the seventh President of the United States, Andrew Jackson, who bought Wyoming from the French for only USD 1,500. In 1890, Wyoming became the 44th state of the United States. Americans admire power and money and like to name things after presidents, so this town became "President". This town is remarkable mainly because of the "Elk Antler Arch Park" in the center of the street. In 1960, they had the idea to build antler arches in the four corners of the park using about 7,500 real antlers. Jackson Hole is the third wealthiest town in the United States and is a Native American reservation. Jackson Mercantile: There are many animal specimens in the store. The town is small and worth exploring, so be sure to take photos and check in at the many boutiques.
