When traveling to Hiroshima, I highly recommend the Kintai Bridge in neighboring Yamaguchi Prefecture.

#JulyDestinations2025 Kintai Bridge Located in Iwakuni City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, it spans the Nishiki River and is one of Japan's three most famous bridges (the other two being Nihonbashi in Tokyo and Spectacle Bridge in Nagasaki). This five-arch wooden bridge is approximately 193 meters long and 5 meters wide. It features a nail-free structure secured by ingenious mortise and tenon joints and metal straps, providing both mechanical strength and elasticity. Surrounded by spring cherry blossoms and autumn leaves, the bridge blends beautifully with the natural environment. Designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan in 1950, it was inscribed as a "Japan Heritage" in 2017. Take a cable car to Iwakuni Castle at the top of the mountain for a panoramic view of Kintai Bridge. It is approximately 45 kilometers from Hiroshima City, a 50-minute drive.
