19th Century Italian Artists' Works

The exhibition offered a unique opportunity to glimpse the expressions and the era of people from the 19th century through the works of Italian artists. Luca Postiglione's "In My Studio," featuring two men in stylish suits reminiscent of those seen in advertisements or films, exuded an elegant atmosphere, giving the impression of exploring an artist's studio. Gioacchino Toma's "Children of the People" from 1862 depicted two young children engrossed in drawing, their earnest expressions charming and endearing. Bernardo Celentano's "Male Portrait" conveyed a sense of intensity with its serious expression, leaving a strong impression. Domenico Morelli's "Woman's Face" captured the pure and untainted image of a young girl, showcasing her innocence. Francesco Netti's "Portrait of Two Women" stood out with its free-spirited poses and the diagonal gaze of the women, creating a striking visual impact. Through these paintings, I felt as though I was traveling back in time, exploring the faces and lives of people from an era I never lived in. It was an exhilarating experience, and if you ever visit Bari, I highly recommend stopping by the Bari Art Museum.
