Hagia Sophia: unbeatable Istanbul's trip

#europetrip Hagia Sophia is one of the most memorable ancient landmarks in Istanbul that I have visited. This beautiful mosque, which was originally built as a cathedral by Emperor Justinian in the 6th century, has unforgettable history. While getting into this magnificent Byzantine architecture, I was marvelled by its ceiling, lighting, and its huge dome. The complex mosaics, the massive columns and arches, showed the unbeatable finest examples of Byzantine art. It is one of the most wonderful architectyure that I have ever visited and I would love to visit it again. I recommend every body visiting this amazing place. Tips: - Location: Sultan Ahmet, Ayasofya Meydanı No:1, 34122 Fatih/İstanbul, Türkiye - One hour drive from Istanbul Airport (take D020 route or 0-7 route). - No parking facilities at Hagia Sophia (there are parking ares nearby). - Open for visitors free of charge. - Closed for visitors around prayer times. - Women must cover their hair, shoulders, and sleeves. It is a mosque - Visitors must remove shoes when entering.
