I was worried because there hadn't been any snow in Gangwon-do for a while, but I set off with a smile, but there was a lot of snow on the way up, and then there was even more white snow in the main photo zone, Byeolbaragi Forest, so I let out a happy cheer. I visited the birch forest again in winter after 5 years, and I think I got to Byeolbaragi Forest faster than I thought before.. This time, it took longer than I thought..? Is it because I'm old..? 🥺 If you take pictures and do this and that, it will take about 1-2 hours round trip, so it's good to take your time, and the uphill slope isn't too steep, but there are icy roads here and there because the accumulated snow melts and freezes repeatedly, so you must wear crampons! If you park in the birch forest parking lot, you will receive a 5,000 won gift certificate, which you can use to buy crampons at the entrance shop, so please keep that in mind. (If you have crampons that you used before, you can use them to buy other ones!) On the way down, the staff told me to come back again because the birch forest in other seasons is so pretty, and the winter birch forest was so beautiful that I wanted to visit it in other seasons too.
