The grounds host flowering trees and shrubs, as well as memorials and monuments. All of the ceiling and wall designs are period, and there are two three-story atriums within the building. The Capitol building features Indiana limestone construction. Noteworthy interior features include granite columns, marble floors and stairs, and a dome crafted of stained glass.
