Recently, I went to one of the amusement parks that is popular among the younger generation in Japan - Yomiuri Land. They chose it because it has beautiful lighting arrangements at night, which they described as jewel lighting, and it was like going to a sparkling amusement park with many places to check in. It takes about 35 minutes to get to Keio Yomiuri Land Station on the Keio Line from Shinjuku. When you arrive at Yomiuri Land Station, you can buy a round-trip cable car to Yomiuri Land or walk for 25 minutes. I recommend taking the cable car because you can enjoy the city and park scenery from high altitude. It is really beautiful especially at dusk and night. The one-way cable car ride is 500 yen, and the round trip is 800 yen. The admission fee to Yomiuri Land is only 1,800 yen for adults, and there is an additional charge for playing games each time. It is suitable for tourists who like to take photos but don't want to play too many games. But if you want to play as many rides as you want, I suggest you buy a one-day pass, which is only 5,800 yen. There are common amusement rides such as roller coasters and Ferris wheels, as well as carousels that children like. My biggest impression of Yomiuri Land was that there were a lot of young Japanese people and basically no local tourists. They were either dating, traveling in groups, or parents with young children. The most beautiful thing about Yomiuri Land at night is riding the Ferris wheel, but you have to wait in a long line, especially for me when the temperature is only a few degrees below zero. It is really uncomfortable to queue for more than an hour outdoors. But when you look at the whole park from a high altitude, the scenery feels really beautiful. It is worth mentioning that Yomiuri Land has two Ferris wheels. The higher one will block some of the view compared to the lower one in front. If you want to see the whole picture of the park, it is recommended to queue for the lower one, but of course the waiting time will be longer. We played until the park closed that day, but it is still recommended that everyone leave half an hour before closing, otherwise you will have to queue for more than an hour to take the cable car back on the way back. If you have been to many amusement parks in Japan, you might consider going to Yomiuri Land and taking some photos.
