The serene green tranquility of the bamboo forest in Guryong Village, Iksan

The bamboo forest located in Guryong Village, Geumma-myeon, Iksan, Jeollabuk-do, was much deeper and wider than expected. As soon as you step into the entrance, you are greeted by towering giant bamboo trees that seem to block out the sky, and the soft dirt path beneath your feet crunches gently as you walk. It’s a space where you don’t need to say a word. Even the sunlight filtering through the trees feels like it’s quietly speaking to you. The lack of crowds made the experience even better. As you walk through the bamboo grove, the only sounds you hear are the rustling of leaves in the wind and the distant chirping of birds. Closing your eyes and taking a deep breath brings a sense of air and time forgotten in the city back into your being. Particularly, as you follow the deeper forest path, you’ll come across a photo spot used as a filming location for the drama "Chuno." Photos taken here give the impression of blending seamlessly into the scenery. Passing the well site, the path splits into two: the left leads to a deeper bamboo forest trail, while the right takes you to a meeting square. Both paths are pleasant to walk, and there are spaces along the way where you can sit and rest, making it a great spot to bring a book. While summer may bring mosquitoes and bugs, long-sleeved clothing and insect repellent are enough to keep them at bay. If you want to experience a serene time and the complete comfort of green nature that you can never feel in the city, this is a forest you must walk through at least once.
