This is the Mahan Museum in Iksan-si, Jeollabuk-do, Republic of Korea. Iksan was a suitable place to accept new cultures or spread them to other places because it had two waterways, the Geumgang and Mangyeonggang, which could be called ancient cultural highways. In addition, there were fertile and wide fields between the Geumgang and Mangyeonggang, which were called 'Okya', so it was a suitable place to establish a country. With such a humanistic and geographical environment, Iksan was a cultural stronghold since the Bronze Age, a place where the Junwang of Gojoseon came down south and settled, and the center of Mahan. It was also the place where the dream of Baekje's revival was embedded and where Baekje's splendid culture blossomed at the end of the year. During the Bronze Age, people dug the ground, erected pillars on trees, and covered them with grass to build a pit house. Even in the same Bronze Age, the shape of the house gradually changed from the early to the late period. The Chinese character for square is banghyeong, and if it is long in one direction, it is called a jangbang. In the early Bronze Age, houses were built in the shape of long squares, or jangbang. Jangbang houses are all relatively large in size.
