Hvar Island (Croatian: Hvar), called Lesina in Italian and the ancient name "Felas Island", is an island in the Dalmatian archipelago off the coast of Croatia, located south of Split. Hvar Island enjoys abundant sunshine all year round and attracts tourists from all over the world with its beautiful natural scenery and rich cultural heritage. In the medieval Hvar city walls built in the 13th century, there are ancient Gothic palaces and marble-paved pedestrian streets. There are many small and rocky beaches dotted along a long cape.
