I was deeply moved by "Moonlit Night on the Ili River." The tranquil moonlit night, vibrant grasslands, and rich customs described in the song filled me with longing for Yili. So, in March, I embarked on this spring exploration and am here to share my three-day Yili travel guide with you. 1. Transportation Guide Airplane: After arriving at Yining Airport, you can take the airport bus directly to the city center or transfer to a public bus or taxi to reach various attractions. Flights from Urumqi Diwopu International Airport to Yining are also available, offering more travel options. Within Yining city, the public bus system can meet basic travel needs. To reach surrounding scenic areas, you can take a tourist bus or share a ride, which is both economical and allows you to enjoy the scenery along the way. High-speed Rail: With the development of Xinjiang's railway network, the number of trains at Yining Station has gradually increased, connecting several cities within Xinjiang. After exiting the station, public buses, taxis, and other transportation options are readily available, making it convenient to reach various attractions. 2. Itinerary Day 1: Yining City - Kazanqi Folk Village - Liuxing Street In the morning, stroll through Yining City and experience the laid-back rhythm of this small border town. Head to Kazanqi Folk Village, where the blue and white buildings exude an exotic charm. Wander through the alleys, admire the traditional houses, and savor the rich, creamy handmade ice cream. After lunch near the folk village, proceed to Liuxing Street, a unique hexagonal street district filled with various cultural and creative shops and restaurants. In the evening, visit Hanren Street to sample local snacks like baked buns and mian fei zi, immersing yourself in Yili's vibrant atmosphere. Day 2: Huocheng - Fushou Mountain - Tukai Desert (Optional) Depart early in the morning for Huocheng. In late March, the apricot blossoms in Xinghua Valley create a breathtaking vista of pink clouds. Afterward, visit Fushou Mountain, where the apricot blossoms complement the mountains and forests, creating a picturesque landscape. If you have the energy, you can also choose to visit the Tukai Desert and experience the unique scenery where desert meets oasis. Please note that the temperature difference between day and night in the desert region is significant in March, so dress warmly. Day 3: Sayram Lake - Guozigou Bridge - Return Trip In the morning, visit Sayram Lake, where the beauty of "the last teardrop of the Atlantic" will surely captivate you. At this time, parts of the lake's surface remain frozen, creating a stunning scene of intertwined blue and white. Take a leisurely walk along the lakeshore and breathe in the fresh air. On the way, you will also pass the Guozigou Bridge. Stop and admire the panoramic view of the bridge, marveling at its architectural beauty. In the afternoon, pack your bags and embark on your return journey, filled with wonderful memories.
