Hunan Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park

The Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park is named after the magical 'Tianmen Cave' natural landscape. When visiting the scenic spot, you can take a 7,500m long cable car ride and enjoy the majestic mountain scenery from the cable car, spiraling between the cliffs beneath your feet on the Tongtian Avenue. For the brave, there is also the challenge of walking on the suspended glass plank road and experiencing the thrill of walking in the air. The Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park is close to Zhangjiajie City, and the Tianmen Cave on the mountain is a natural cave that penetrates the mountain. The locals believe that Tianmen Mountain can directly lead to heaven. For the general public, Tianmen Cave is not open all year round, and every winter, due to snowy and icy roads, Tianmen Cave and the Tongtian Avenue leading to it (99 winding mountain paths) are closed. The lower station of the scenic cable car is located at Yun Ding Guan Li Ping, and the upper station is at the summit of Tianmen Mountain. In 2020, an express line was opened at the scenic spot, with the lower station near the gate of Tianmen Mountain and the upper station near the Tianmen Cave parking lot. The Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park is filled with towering ancient trees, entwined vines, and a pleasant landscape. The scenic area is divided into several major areas including Tianmen Cave, Zhongxian, Dongxian, and Xixian scenic areas. Tourists can choose different routes and areas according to their preferences and physical condition. The core attractions of Zhongxian include the Tianmenshan Temple and the 'Qiu'er Cave' near the temple. According to folk legend, the goddess Guanyin, who grants sons, appeared here, and it is said that if you pray sincerely, you can pray for your children. The highlight of the western route is the 60m long 'glass plank road'. The path on the cliff is all made of transparent glass, so when you walk, you can see the deep valley beneath your feet... It's scary and fun to walk in the air. The eastern line is mainly primitive forest, and currently, a 150-meter-long road has been opened. Glass walkway. There are no accommodations in the scenic spot, so you can only visit for one day. Near Tianmenshan Temple, there is the 'Cherry Bay Restaurant' that offers snacks and fast food. Near the lower station of the Tianmen Mountain cable car, there is a bus to the 'Canyon Grand Theater' where you can watch live performances and the magical musical 'Tianmen Fox Fairy'. This story, adapted from the myth and legend 'Yuhai Jangjak Paegi', tells of the touching love between a human and a fox. Live music, lighting, a giant moon, changing fox spirits, flying snow, and high-flying bridges are some of the enchanting scenes that vividly portray this legendary love.
