There are many places where you can see Sequoias in California. Due to the weather and the fact that we had a 3yo kid with us, we went to Redwood national Park cause of its location and amenities. And it was a perfect choice for a day trip to see those majestic trees. It is an easy drive. There is a convenient parking lot and most pathways are well maintained, so it was possible to cross and walk around even on a rainy day. There were quite a few parents with small kids - most broadwalks were wide enough for a stroller. There is a cafe and a gift shoo at the park. Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park was fabulous! It was easy to get to and had plenty of parking. The trail was short enough to be a good thing and a long enough trail to really feel the forest. Our kids loved seeing the fallen trees as well as those super tall, still standing, giants. I think to younger kids, the size of the trunks is most impressive because all trees look tall for them. It was a smooth and wide path with not many people.
