Morin Dawa River

Morin Dawa River, also known as Morin Gawa River, Morin Gen River, and Morin Geng River, is a transliteration from Mongolian, meaning 'winding river' or 'meeting head river,' and is acclaimed as 'the most winding river under heaven'. Located within the territory of Chen Barag Banner, Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, it originates from the western side of Hada Ridge in the middle section of the Greater Khingan Range. The river is 319 kilometers long, with a drainage area of 4,987 square kilometers. The river meanders from northeast to southwest through the Hulunbuir grasslands, joining Hulun Lake west of Bayankuren Town by more than 10 kilometers. It then flows out from the southern part of the lake and joins the Hailar River near the Wugunor Railway Station on the Binzhou line, being part of the Erguna River system that forms the border between China and Russia. The terrain within the river basin is flat and open, with a gentle river gradient and meandering channels. The banks are rich in water and grass, making it an excellent natural pasture.
