A WEEKEND BY THE RIVER, FOREST SANCTUARY

#weekendgetaways This was one of our best weekend retreats after spending weeks on end in the concrete jungle, feeling so utterly exhausted. Rumah Hutan or Forest Sanctuary is usually fully booked on weekends but we were so lucky that day to snag the last available room. Its a tiny 30 square metre house built right on the riverbank, surrounded by a lush garden, with its cozy balcony ideal for sitting and enjoying the sound of the flowing water. On the first day, it was overcast and the water turned really muddy. But the next day, when the weather cleared up, the water became so crystal clear that we spent hours swimming, playing and soaking in the river, the cold water so refreshing that we didn’t want to leave.
