Ta'er Monastery is located in Huangzhong District, Xining City, Qinghai Province, and was founded in the twelfth year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty (1379). It is the center of Tibetan Buddhism activities in the northwest region of China🇨🇳 and enjoys a high reputation in China🇨🇳 and Southeast Asia. Butter sculptures, murals, and appliqué embroidery are known as the 'Three Wonders of Ta'er Monastery Art🎨'! It also houses many Buddhist scriptures and academic works on history, literature, philosophy, medicine, legislation, and other fields. It is one of the six major monasteries of the Gelug school (Yellow Sect) of Tibetan Buddhism in China🇨🇳. It is also the leading cultural and historical site in Qinghai Province! The monastery has over 1,000 courtyards and more than 4,500 halls and monks' quarters. The scale is grand, and the architecture🏗️ is unique, harmoniously blending Tibetan and Han styles.
