One best thing happened because of the rail network extension in China is, we have the high speed train from Shanghai to 黄山 (literal translation Yellow mountain) in just under 3 hours. This wasn't there before 2 years, and it was much awaited by end of 2019; as 黄山 is comparatively a great getaway spot from Shanghai. It's quite a rare sight to see tropical mountains with not much plants and animals, 黄山 is one of them. With now being the transition from winter to spring, the mountains are perfect for a 3 day escape. And most importantly 黄山 has a lot of hiking routes, which I love the most. I'll share one of them here, On day 1: Plan your arrival before day evening, and take the hotel at the bottom of the mountain. Especially at 汤口 village; there are many of them with decent breakfast. Then day 1 morning, get a bus to Yunggu temple where you buy bus tickets to go to starting point of hiking. After you get the bus ticket, hop on and get down at the starting point. Here again, you can decide whether you want to hike or cable car also available until White Goose ridge station (yes, there are different names for different view points). If you start to hike, there are many amazing view points that are self explorable. After you reach white goose ridge station, visit Begin-to-believe peak and Black tiger pine. Keep walking towards the hotel, using sign boards and reach there before sunset. You can't miss that for sure. Day 2: It's your day on the mountain, you can choose to wake up early and see sunrise. Then go for little hike to nearby view points like turtle peak, and the tallest peak in 黄山 the lotus peak. Lion peak is also great to go around. After a relaxed day, I had a amazing hotpot at mountain top. It was such a good day. Day 3: It's time to see the front side of mountain that has exhilarating views. You can choose to hike down on today and finish up an amazing trip. #qingmingtravel #urbanexplorer #anhuitravel #hiking #urbanexplorer#qingmingtravel#lightthecity

⛰️Huangshan – Crowded, Yes. Worth It? Absolutely. I visited Huangshan during a Chinese holiday — yes, it was crowded, and yes, I queued for hours. But none of that mattered once I reached the peaks. There’s something surreal about standing above the clouds, watching the mist drift slowly around the jagged mountain tops. It felt like walking through a painting — pine trees clinging to cliffs, stone steps winding through the fog, and waves of clouds floating just below your feet. Despite the crowds, Huangshan was breathtaking. Tiring, yes — but magical. And honestly? I’d do it all over again. 🌫️🌄
