I revisited Xixi South Ancient Village, this time more leisurely! Coming to the ancient village in summer, I truly felt the charm of 'The Wizard of Oz'. Staying overnight in the ancient village, I got up early in the morning, and the village was quiet. Xixi South is located in the Huizhou region, although it is a treasure land for travel, it is low-key and introverted, sometimes you can't even see tourists, it is a real 'secluded secret realm'. Hundreds of original residents work at sunrise and rest at sunset, retaining a rare simplicity. From 10 am, there were more tourists. Here, it's more like a backyard for locals than a tourist spot, with no fences, no admission fees, completely free. Xixi South is different from famous villages like Hongcun, Xidi, Chengkan, with unique scenery. The core area is the Fengle River (Xixi South Wetland) in front of the village, the maple poplar forest by the river, and the small wooden bridge across the river, which is like a paradise. It's always beautiful to take pictures in the maple poplar forest, it's very artistic and forest-like! In addition to the forest scenery, the second scenery here is the small bridges and flowing water, Huizhou-style architecture, water town alleys... Wandering in the alleys, you feel the simple folk customs. The trumpet creeper flowers here bloom much later, quietly blooming among the white walls and green tiles... Xixi South, known as 'The Wizard of Oz', has the best preserved natural wetland maple poplar forest in southern Anhui, the picturesque Fengle River, and the wise ancient Huizhou water conservancy project. 'Xixi South was featured on CCTV's 'My Most Beautiful Village' program' As a key village for national rural tourism, it has a natural ecological culture like 'The Wizard of Oz'. Transportation: The village is very close to Huangshan North Station, about 12 minutes by taxi, located at Xixi South Parking Lot; there is also a direct bus to the main road from the North Station, but you have to walk in, a bit far; if you drive, you can park directly at the village entrance. Some homestays in the village offer pick-up service from the station or the parking lot. Tour time: Half a day is enough for a quick visit; if you want to take pictures carefully, you need a whole day. Cost: Open village, free.
