Shipping container Starbucks!

#2023travelwish #taiwan #hualien Creative spaces have always intrigued me so I was eager to pop by the multi-storey Starbucks in Hualien, constructed from 29 recycled shipping containers by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. Inspired by coffee trees, the pearly-white containers were staggered across four levels and set at 90-degree angles, an ingenious referencing of the plant foliage, as well as traditional Chinese bucket arches used in temples and historic palaces 😍 Even if I don’t stay for the coffee, I would undoubtedly remain for the store’s impressive facade. My travel wish for 2023 would be to continue exploring foreign lands & revisit familiar boundaries to gain different invaluable insights!
