Hualien Three-Day Two-Night Trip: Climbing Dashibi Mountain and Eating Flying Fish Roe Sausages!

We embarked on a three-day, two-night trip to Hualien and visited Dashibi Mountain on the eastern coast. Located at the southern end of the Qizai Coastal Recreation Area, this small hill juts out from the coastline. Our guide mentioned that it looks like a big nose and somewhat like a turtle shell, hence the names 'Dashibi Mountain' or 'Turtle Hermitage Mountain.' Dashibi Mountain has a hiking trail that loops around to the seaside. Most of the steps are made of wooden sleepers and stones, with gentle slopes that make for a comfortable walk. It takes less than an hour to complete the trail. At the summit, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Highway 11, Qizai Bay, and the Pacific Ocean. The view is excellent, but there's no shade, so it can get quite hot! Across from the parking lot, there's a stall selling indigenous sausages. Our guide recommended the grilled flying fish roe sausages, so we bought some to try. They have a unique sea flavor and are quite delicious.
