Hualien Cultural and Creative Industries Park

Hualien Cultural and Creative Industries Park was originally a winery established during the Japanese colonial period. It was the first large-scale alcohol production factory in Hualien. After the winery's operations were moved to the Meilun District, the site was abandoned for many years. In 2008, the Ministry of Culture took over the site, restoring and organizing the buildings to create the Hualien Cultural and Creative Industries Park we see today. Despite its current well-maintained and orderly appearance, the park has endured the ravages of World War II bombings and earthquakes, which is why some of the venues are still closed for repairs. It is a cultural venue that appears simple and unadorned on the surface but is rich in historical stories and has weathered many hardships.
