Located above the Guandong Market, the Guandong Branch shares the building with the Hsinchu City Hakka Cultural Hall (4th floor) and the Civic Activity Center (5th floor). The Guandong Branch focuses on Hakka culture, featuring thematic bookshelves that introduce Hakka culture. Their bookshelves even have Hakka phonetic transcriptions! It's a very distinctive detail! The children's reading area in the library regularly hosts storytelling events, and influenced by the Hakka cultural theme, they also have storytelling sessions in Hakka. Those interested in Taiwanese Hakka culture should definitely check it out! The Guandong Branch just opened at the end of last year, so the facilities are very new. The interior is dominated by a natural wood color, with rows of glass windows on both sides, offering a spacious view and natural light that makes reading inside comfortable and not straining on the eyes.
