Before arriving in Kezuo Zhongqi Banner, I knew about its famous "Fenglin Horse Town". Her unique five-pointed maple tree stands on the vast grassland. Every year when the maple leaves turn red, the unique savanna scenery of "red trees and golden grasslands" here is almost always featured on CCTV. Moreover, Kezuozhong Banner is known as the "hometown of horse racing", and the annual horse racing competitions are very lively. The TV series "The Maple Leaves Are Red" and the movie "The Years of Pentium" in recent years were filmed here. When maple leaves meet a galloping horse, it creates a beautiful scene that makes the old wizard press the shutter non-stop. In the morning mist at sunrise, grassland men riding on fine horses and holding lassoes drive herds of horses, galloping across the golden grassland and red maple forests. This feeling is so exciting! Sasha just came back from horse riding lessons in Chifeng last month. Sasha also wants to ride a horse in the maple forest and practice her horse riding skills at the same time. Getting up early to photograph horse racing has now become a regular travel activity for photography enthusiasts in Kezuo Zhongqi Banner. The location is not in the Maple Forest Park (it is a protected area and you can't run horses there), you need to go to another small village under a windmill on the grassland. We got up at six in the morning and arrived at the herders' village. More than a hundred horses were already prepared. The camera and the drone had to be located on a fixed hill so as not to be in the shot. The herders will drive the horses around the camera position. The horses have been trained and are not afraid of drones. And the old wizard is almost flying to the same height as the horse. The horse racing shoot took about an hour, and after it was over I couldn’t help but choose a horse to gallop around. The feeling of dopamine being secreted is so great. But unfortunately, when we arrived, the maple leaves were not yet red, and it still lacked a little soul. TIPS: The maple leaves should turn all red by the middle to late period of the National Day holiday. A drone is a must, and a long telephoto lens is definitely required, with a focal length of at least 200mm or more, the more the better. There is also a 4A-level "Maple Ecological Park" in Kezuozhong Banner, which has the same maple forest grassland, but also has a small lake, making it more lively. In addition, Menggehan Mountain is a place where locals drive to climb. It was a sacred mountain for the Xianbei people in the past. There are still Xianbei Caves on the mountain, and countless nationally protected animals live here. Of course, it’s best to bring a drone to take aerial photos of the most beautiful scenery.
