An Underrated Ice and Snow Kingdom (Mount Wawu)

I finally saw the first snow of the new year at Mount Wawu, a place near Chengdu. It is like an ice and snow forest covered in white snow. ✅ Cold pine trees, ✅ white snow, ✅ ice waterfalls, ✅ sea of clouds There are also many cute squirrels, and some tourists even saw red pandas 🐼 I was envious of them for a while. — 🏔️ Mount Wawu It is the second largest mesa in the world and the largest in Asia. It is located in Hongya County, Meishan City, Sichuan Province, China, about a 3-hour drive from Chengdu. You can make a day trip there, but it will be a bit tiring. — 👉🏻 About the itinerary We took the hiking route: Gufoping Cableway - Mesa Cloud Path Entrance - Yuanyang Pool - Xiaoyao Bridge - Xiang'er Villa - Lanxi Ice Waterfall - Xiang'er Villa - Back to Gufoping Cableway. The whole journey is about 10 km. We didn't go to the ice waterfall because it was cloudy and foggy that day. ✅ Especially Yuanyang Pool, where several dead trees break through the ice on the frozen lake, and bamboo rafts are parked by the lake, creating a poetic scene of "A thousand paths vanish, and I fish alone in the cold river snow." ✅ Along the way, you will often encounter "business" squirrels that attract tourists to stop and take photos. — 👉🏻 Practical information 🎫 Tickets: Be sure to buy them online in advance, and enter the scenic area with your ID card. ⏰ Time: 08:00–14:00. It is recommended to go on weekdays, as there are many people on weekends.
