Last summer, I took the Aida Magic Cruise, and this time during the Chinese New Year holiday, I experienced the legendary "Gulangyu Cruise," known for its incredible value for money. I say, Gulangyu Cruise is absolutely amazing! 📍【Let's talk about the hot topic: food availability】 I traveled during the Lunar New Year voyage, which is undoubtedly the peak season with the highest number of passengers, but I swear, there was absolutely no chaos! No fighting for food at all! The ship has three free restaurants, and we frequented the buffet restaurant on the 12th floor. Although it was crowded, everyone was super orderly, and the queues were short. The dishes catered well to Chinese tastes, and as someone who loves strong flavors, I even brought my own chili powder. Six days and five nights of delicious meals! If you prefer Western cuisine, the main restaurant also offers it, with varying levels of refinement depending on your taste. You can try them all if you're curious! 📍【Group tour or independent travel?】 If you're traveling with elderly or children, group tours are more convenient. The official shore excursions cover several spots and include duty-free shopping, but independent travel is also great! We opted for shared car rides for independent travel. After entering the port, you can ask other tourists in the taxi area if they want to share a ride. It's affordable, flexible, and allows you to plan your own itinerary—super easy! 📍【How comfortable are the rooms?】 I stayed in a sea-view room, and I highly recommend it! In winter, balcony rooms aren't really necessary as the wind can be strong and might even leak. A sea-view room is just perfect—you can lie in bed at night and watch the stars or sunrise, full of romance✨. For those with cleanliness concerns or sensitive skin, I suggest bringing disposable bedding sets for extra peace of mind. The bathroom was clean and tidy, with enough space despite being compact. It was cleaned daily, though the bed sheets weren't changed every day. 📍【What activities are available on the ship?】 The pool was closed in winter, but the deck on the Gulangyu Cruise is super photogenic! 📸 On the return trip, you can even see flocks of seagulls. Just throw some bread to feed them—no need to fly to Yunnan for that, haha! During sea days, we spent most of our time in the small cinema. Although it's not IMAX, the movies were enjoyable and relaxing.
