Hong Kong | A Unique City Walk in Kwun Tong District

When people think of Kwun Tong, the first impression is often of an industrial area with crowded streets, densely packed buildings, and old architecture. However, over the past year, as my child frequently visits Kwun Tong for classes, I’ve had more opportunities to explore the area and have developed a new perspective on it. Walking around the vicinity of Ngau Tau Kok MTR station multiple times, I’ve noticed significant changes. Perhaps it’s because I’ve started to appreciate every place I visit, which has made me see things differently. Hung To Building is a place I pass by every week. At some point, I began to find charm in this building—probably after hearing a driver mention that it’s a historic restaurant. Haha! 😆 Hung To Building is a landmark Cantonese restaurant in Kwun Tong’s industrial area. On the ground floor is Hung To Building Tea Restaurant, offering a variety of local delicacies, including dim sum, roasted meats, and clay pot dishes. (I’ve personally tried the pigeon, panda custard buns, and golden tofu. 🙈 The flavors were quite impressive.) If you’re in the area, you should give it a try. 😊 Around the MTR station, you can also visit Kwun Tong Promenade for a stroll, enjoy the scenery of Kai Tak, and watch the sunset. While I usually hike uphill, this time I tried walking along Kwun Tong Promenade all the way to Mega Box, which was visible in the distance. To my surprise, the distance was much farther than expected. 😂 You even have to pass by the Children’s Hospital to cross the road and reach Mega Box. (If you’re not wearing comfortable shoes or don’t usually walk long distances, I wouldn’t recommend walking there. 🙈) 🌟🌟🌟 Apart from the historical buildings on Hong Kong Island that are widely loved, you can also explore different districts to discover unique Hong Kong flavors and historical architecture. (Even if one day, unfortunately, these places no longer exist, you can proudly say, "I’ve been there." 😊) Hung To Building Address: 1F, 39 Hung To Road, Kwun Tong Hung To Building + Kwun Tong Promenade Transportation: Accessible via MTR 🚇 Kwun Tong Line, "Ngau Tau Kok" Station, Exit B6, a 6-10 minute walk.
