Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens

The Zoo and Botanical Gardens have always been a must-go place for school trips for kindergarten and primary school students. Visiting the site today brought back memories of our childhood visits and allowed us to enjoy the flowers. You may not know it until you hear it, but the Zoological and Botanical Gardens has a very long history of 150 years and has stood for a century and a half, going through the changes of different dynasties, including the former colonial dynasties since the founding of the port to the present day. Many of its landmarks and historical sites are still well preserved, including the former main entrance stone pillars and steps built between 1861 and 1864, the pavilion (former bandstand) in 1866, the memorial archway in 1928 (commemorating the martyrdom of Chinese during the war), the bronze statue of King George VI, the steps leading to the fountain platform, the gateposts of Garden Road and the landmark fountain of the Zoological and Botanical Gardens, etc. The beauty tree next to the steps brings a cool breeze when walking along the path. The park blooms from September to October every year, and the "Maple Alley" is covered with maple leaves from November to December. Why not take a walk to enjoy the flowers and find the quiet and slow pace of life that belongs to city dwellers? In addition, trees are Hong Kong’s precious natural resources and cultural witnesses. In order to enhance visitors’ attention and appreciation for ancient trees, the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens has connected many ancient trees in the garden and established the “Ancient Tree Trail” to help people deepen their understanding and interest in ancient tree resources. #Flower-viewing-strategy #Local-tourism #Spring-travel #Hong-Kong-good-places #Family-friendly-places
