A Hidden Gem in Hong Kong: Braemar Hill

I discovered a hidden gem on my recent trip to Hong Kong: Braemar Hill, located in North Point. It offers panoramic views that rival those from Victoria Peak. Follow my route for a free and easy hike with stunning city views. 🚇 Getting there: Take the MTR to North Point Station (Exit B2), then take bus 85 to the Braemar Hill Bus Terminus. Hiking route: The trailhead is to the left of St. Teresa's Secondary School, next to a graffiti wall. Follow the small path uphill. There are trail markers along the way. Follow the signs towards Jardine's Lookout. When you reach a T-junction, turn right to reach the first viewpoint. There are many large rocks at the top, a popular spot for photos, especially among foreigners. This location is also the most crowded. Second photo spot: Return to the T-junction and continue straight ahead. You'll see a large rock along the path, which also serves as a resting spot. However, this spot isn't as picturesque. Third photo spot (summit): Continue along the uphill path. You'll see a well-trodden path leading directly up the hill, passing under some high-voltage power lines. Keep going uphill to reach the summit. I had the entire summit to myself—completely deserted! This spot is also great for photos. Return: You can either retrace your steps or follow the Two Step Road route. I don't recommend hiking alone, as it's truly deserted and can be a bit unnerving, haha. Two Step Road route: Braemar Hill Circular Hiking Trail Distance: 3.5 km Duration: 1.5 hours (including photo stops) Elevation gain: 105 m If you're tired of the usual Victoria Peak views, I highly recommend checking out this hidden gem! I suggest starting around 4 p.m. to catch the sunset and night view. Unfortunately, I had to catch a flight back to Shanghai and missed the night view. I'll have to see it next time.
